Silent Echoes
Context | The Act of Dining
Since the earliest civilizations, the act of dining has been a community practice and evolved into many different forms with time. Due to the technological era we live in and the social pattern caused by social media, the act of dining is no longer focused on physical interactions rather on virtual ones.
Container | The Space
The corridor no longer acts as a transitional space of users in motion, a new dimension of crystallization is given to it: the Act of Dining. A culinary experience unraveled, the tables features various elements exploring light, textures, sound and scent. The monochrome grey palette give the feeling of a stage set. A mirror is set between diners, with a mobile phone stand beneath it to communicate. The tableware reflects the needs of today’s society; a comb replaces a fork, a medicine box replaces a knife, and oversized spoons represents modern excess.
Content | The Journey
“Silent Echoes” is a journey where your senses are stimulated towards a state of infinite reflection, disorientation and re-questioning. It echoes today’s world of individualization, self-absorption and virtual interactions.
